I’m a Bolton-based voiceover artist with a warm, natural northern voice. I started out in hospital radio and presented for trial broadcasts in the 1990s, then spent four years as a presenter and producer at Bolton community radio. So I know how a script needs to sound on air, and what producers need from a voice track.

Voicover FAQs - Everything you need to know
What do I need to send you?
Your script, plus any notes on tone, pace or accent. A reference ad or brand style helps too. Once I have the script I can usually deliver within 24 hours.
What will I receive?
A clean, broadcast-ready dry vocal as WAV or 320kbps MP3, with three variations of your script (different pace, tone or emphasis) to choose from. “Dry” means no music or effects, so your producer can mix it however they like.
Do you do other accents?
Yes, at no extra charge. My natural voice is warm North West (Bolton). I can also do other regional accents. Just tell me which one and I’m sure I can accommodate whether it be a serious read or comedic!
How many words is a typical ident or ad?
A 10–15 second ident is about 35 words, and a 30-second spot is up to 75 words. Longer scripts are fine, so send it over for a quote.
Can I use the recording on commercial radio?
Yes. Rates depend on your station type: local, regional or national. Commercial usage covers 12 months on-air, and renewal after that is 50% of the original fee. Community and charity stations have no time limit.
What if I want changes?
I’ll re-record any error of mine for free. If you change the approved script after the three takes, revisions are charged at 50% of the original fee.
Can you add music or mix the finished spot?
Yes. I’ll mix your chosen take over a licensed music bed and deliver a finished, broadcast-ready track. This is +£25 per spot, with lower rates on bulk orders.
I need a whole set of idents. Is there a bulk price?
Yes. The more idents you record, the less each one costs. This works well for presenter idents too, where tonal options are included. Send your scripts and I’ll quote you.
What about tricky names or pronunciations?
If your script has tricky names or brand terms, add a note or a phonetic spelling, or send a reference recording. It saves re-records.
How does payment work?
I’ll invoice you with your quote. Orders over £150 need a 50% deposit, with the balance due on delivery. Payment terms are stated on your invoice. Usage rights are granted once payment is received in full. No VAT is charged, so the price quoted is the price you pay.
Can you turn it round faster than 24 hours?
Often, yes, depending on the day’s workload. If you have a tight deadline, tell me before booking and I’ll confirm what I can do.
